Sabah CM Celebrates Hari Raya Aidilfitri with PCG in Sipitang


To commemorate the joys of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad in cooperation with PETRONAS Sabah Labuan Regional Office (SLRO) and the local leaders, held a special celebration for more than 4,000 guests at the Esplanade Pekan Sipitang in Sipitang, Sabah on 24 July 2016. The Open House, which lasted from 11am to 3pm, was honoured by the special presence of Sabah Chief Minister YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman.

The event serves to strengthen the rapport between PCG, the Sabah governmental and private agencies, heads of various communities, the media and the community of Sipitang. It also portrays PCG's sincere gratitude towards all parties involved in supporting its Sabah Ammonia Urea (SAMUR) project in Sipitang.

Some of the other VIPs present at the Open House were Sabah's Minister of Industrial Development YB Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah and Sabah Secretary of State YB Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman. Other notable figures included Sindumin assemblyman YB Tuan Hj Ahmad Bujang, Lumadan assemblyman YB Datuk Kamarlin Ombil as well as PCG MD/CEO, YBhg Datuk Sazali Hamzah as host.


During the event, PCG handed over RM14,000 worth of donations to 7 local surau and mosques. These are Masjid Kampung Kuala Mengalong; Masjid Kampung Banting; Masjid Kampung Luagan Sindumin; Surau An-Nur, Kampung Sungai Tiga; Surau Kampung Lubuk Darat; Surau Kampung Siputol; dan Surau Kampung Sindumin Baru.Children of Sipitang were also given "duit raya" to mark the fourth Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebrations in Sipitang.

SAMUR project, which is worth US$1.9 billion, has reached 98% completion and is slated to be ready by the second half of 2016.
